Bobby was bred to be Christmas dinnerBobby was born and raised for just one purpose—to be fattened up and served as Christmas dinner. But fate had other plans. Thanks to a compassionate Samaritan who convinced his family to surrender him, Bobby got a second chance at life.
We first heard about Bobby's story back in 2015, just as we were starting the sanctuary. At the time, we only had baby Mandy. But as soon as we learned about Bobby’s narrow escape from becoming a Christmas ham, we knew we had to help him. We quickly made arrangements to have him neutered and brought him home. Huge thanks to our friend Bridget Munger for alerting us and driving all the way to Virginia to rescue him. Bobby todayNow, Bobby is a stunning boy—with big tusks that need a trim every few years—and a huge personality to match. He spends his days roaming the woods with his lifelong companion, Miss Mandy. The two are inseparable. Their bond is a beautiful reminder of how love, freedom, and safety can transform lives. We truly believe their deep connection is rooted in a shared gratitude for being rescued from a life they were never meant to live.
